In 1994 the owners of M's Pub, Ann Mellen and Ron Samuelson, felt it was time to open another restaurant. They felt the city could benefit from an establishment that would provide outstanding contemporary Italian fare in a warm and lively atmosphere. Thus were Vivace's beginnings.

The name "Vivace", which is a musical term meaning lively, was chosen in an attempt to convey the atmosphere of the restaurant. Our intent is to provide good food at reasonable prices and service that is knowledgeable, gracious and attentive. To compliment the menu, it seemed logical to offer Italian wines. So, we created a wine list unlike any other in Omaha. We now offer approximately 200 wines, with many unique varieties by the glass as well.

Developed in the Old Market district of Omaha, Vivace is a stylish and comfortable restaurant. A large glass front offers a great view of the central part of the Market. A large patio welcomes casual, seasonal dining. For private functions, whether for business or for fun, we have an additional dining room for groups up to 30.

Appetizers
Calamari - dusted with seasoned semolina flour, then fried, tossed with fresh tomatoes and basil, served with lemon-tarragon dipping sauce. $10

Spinach Artichoke Dip - spinach, artichokes and mozzarella baked golden brown with grated parmesan cheese, served with fresh baked bread. $8

Dates - stuffed with mascarpone cheese and almonds, wrapped with thinly sliced coppa ham, then roasted in the oven and served warm. $7

Antipasta Plate - an assortment of cheeses, roasted garlic bulb, rolled prosciutto, cherry peppers and fresh baked bread. $10
Scampi - drenched with sun-dried tomato butter and melted Havarti cheese. $8

Baked Mushrooms - stuffed with a mixture of cream cheese, green onions, baby shrimp and roasted bell peppers. $9

Hummus - served surrounded by grilled pita chips, then sprinkled with Calamata olives and feta cheese. $7

Meat Balls–Italian sausage and pork mixed with onion, sun-dried tomatoes and crushed red chilies, baked in a hearty tomato sauce. $9

Tomato-Feta Dip - a mixture of fire-roasted tomatoes and feta cheese, served with polenta-crusted zucchini chips. $7

Mussels - green lip mussels sautéed in a light sherry cream sauce topped with seasoned bread crumbs and baked until golden brown. $10

Cannelloni - crepes filled with ground veal, pork, prosciutto, rosemary and sage, topped with a nutmeg cream sauce. $9

Goat Bread - goat cheese topped with our classic marinara sauce, baked and served with cherry peppers and fresh baked bread. $8

Chicken - grilled flatbread spread with white sauce and Italian cheeses, then topped with grilled chicken, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts and pine nuts, finished with basil pesto drizzle. $9

Greek - grilled flatbread spread with oregano-tomato sauce, then topped with red onions, fresh spinach, Calamata olives and feta cheese. $8

Italian Meat - grilled flatbread spread with red pepper puree, salami, cappocola, pepperoni, fresh herbs and a blend of Italian cheeses. $10

Gorgonzola - grilled flatbread topped with ground Italian sausage, roasted bell peppers and gorgonzola crumbles. $9

Goat Cheese - grilled flatbread spread with spicy tomato sauce with goat cheese and fresh basil. $8

Italian Club - ciabatta bread spread with basil pesto, stuffed with slicedcapocolla, pepperoni, prosciutto, salami, arugula, tomatoes and provolone cheese, served with roasted red pepper aioli. $9

Steak - grilled steak fanned open-face on ciabatta bread, smothered with sautéed mushrooms, red peppers, onions and Muenster cheese, served with rosemary and smoked black pepper aioli $11

Smoked Salmon - ciabatta bread spread with a dill-artichoke cream cheese and layered with shaved smoked salmon, tomatoes and leaf lettuce. $12

Chicken - ciabatta bread layered with pan-seared chicken breast, shaved prosciutto, caramelized onions, sliced tomatoes, spinach and Asiago cheese, served with a sage-dijon aioli. $10

Tomato & Basil - ciabatta bread stuffed with sliced tomatoes, basil, provolone, gruyere and smoked mozzarella cheeses. $8

Crab - ciabatta bread layered with a crab cake, tomatoes, provelone cheese and red leaf lettuce, served with roasted red pepper aioli. $10

Vegetable Salad - romaine lettuce tossed with cherry tomatoes, Calamata olives, red onion, crumbled feta cheese, grilled artichoke hearts and Israeli cous cous tossed with creamy oregano pesto dressing and served with grilled pita chips. $9

Steak Salad - romaine lettuce tossed with cherry tomatoes, grilled yellow peppers and gorgonzola cheese in a horseradish-chive buttermilk dressing, fanned with grilled beef and crowned with crispy onions. $12

Caesar Salad - crisp romaine lettuce tossed with our classic dressing, then sprinkled with grated Romano, croutons, roasted yellow peppers and balsamic marinated onions. $8

Chicken Salad - chicken tenderloin breaded with parmesan and ground pine nuts, fried and served over romaine lettuce tossed with cherry tomatoes, red onions and grilled yellow peppers in a honey-Dijon herb dressing. $12

Lamb Salad - marinated sirloin grilled medium rare and placed on a bed of mixed greens, tossed with cherry tomatoes, red onions, cherry peppers and goat cheese in red wine vinaigrette, served with grilled pita chips. $15

Salmon Salad - grilled filet resting on a bed of field greens, tossed with cherry tomatoes, balsamic onions, yellow peppers, gorgonzola cheese, cucumber and toasted walnuts in a orange-tarragon balsamic vinaigrette. $14

Shrimp Salad - grilled shrimp and asparagus over field greens tossed with cherry tomatoes, crispy prosciutto and grilled yellow peppers in strawberry Marsala vinaigrette. $13

Parma Rosa - smoked mozzarella-filled ravioli, grilled chicken, mushrooms, peas, yellow peppers and leeks, tossed in a creamy tomato sauce, topped with ricotta salata. $13

Seafood Alfredo - fresh shell pasta tossed with sautéed shrimp, scallops and mussels in our creamy white cheese sauce. $15

Gorgonzola Cream - tossed with crimini mushrooms, red onions, roasted red peppers, spicy Italian sausage and pappardelle pasta. $12

Carbonara - black pepper fettuccine tossed with pancetta, peas and red onions, finished withherbed olive oil and egg yolk. $10

Bolognese - fresh fusilli pasta tossed with our traditional veal and pork ragout, sprinkled with Italian cheeses. $11

Manicotti - stuffed with ricotta cheese, wild mushrooms and spinach, baked in a casserole with a light cream sauce, topped with Italian cheeses. $11

Marinara - our version of this classic sauce tossed with penne pasta and Italian meat balls, smothered with mozzarella cheese and baked. $12

Shrimp Pesto - black tigers, asparagus and sun dried tomatoes, tossed with farfalle pasta in a basil tarragon pesto. $14

Scallopine - medallions sautéed with crimini mushrooms, basil, leeks and roasted peppers in a Chianti butter sauce. Chicken $16 Veal $17

Entrées


Flat Iron Steak - grilled and smothered with a ragout of red potatoes, sliced mushrooms, red onion and wilted greens in a rich walnut demi-glaze, served with seasonal vegetables. $16

Chicken Roulade - chicken breast rolled with Italian sausage, bell peppers and caramelized onions, lightly breaded and baked, served over black pepper fettuccine with arabiatta sauce, topped with Italian cheeses. $16

Salmon - filet poached with apricots, tomatoes and spinach in Marsala butter sauce over wild rice, served with seasonal vegetables. $16

Eggplant Steak - marinated eggplant teamed with a portabella mushroom cap, grilled and rested on a bed of toasted pine nut and oregano cous cous with a feta-chickpea tapenade. $12

Pork Shank - rolled in whole grain mustard, then braised with brandied leeks, red and yellow onions, served smothered in pan juices with seasonal vegetables over mashed potatoes. $13

Mediterranean Tuna - parmesan crusted and placed over toasted pine nut cous cous and topped with a relish of mixed olives, balsamic onions, pepperoncinis, capers, garlic, red peppers and fresh basil and served with seasonal vegetables. $16

Lamb Sirloin - grilled and fanned over cous cous with an eggplant-tomato caponata, then drizzled with a spicy yogurt sauce. $17
